Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager oversees daily transportation operations for shared-ride or company vehicle services. This role ensures drivers, routes, and schedules run efficiently while maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality customer service. The Operations Manager also leads staff performance, supports client relationships, and helps maintain strong customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support drivers, dispatchers, and field staff.
- Manage daily route scheduling, trip assignments, and service coverage.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, and service quality.
- Handle customer service issues, complaints, and service escalations.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, and fleet readiness.
- Conduct onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching for drivers.
- Track operational metrics (on-time performance, trip completion, safety incidents).
- Work with clients/contracts to ensure service level agreements are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–4 years of management experience in paratransit or transportation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage fast-paced operations, make sound decisions, and solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency with scheduling, dispatch systems, and operational reporting.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Mix of office and field work.
- Occasional evenings or weekends are required.
